Participant Overview
WIC and Senior FMNP (S/FMNP) is a congressionally authorized program administered by the Connecticut Department of Agriculture (CT DoAG) and jointly funded by the State of Connecticut and the United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service (USDA FNS).
The S/FMNP helps women, infants, children (WIC), seniors over 60, and qualifying disabled individuals purchase fresh produce at farmers markets from June 1 to November 30th each year.

WIC FMNP
The WIC FMNP provides benefits to participants of Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) who are identified as “nutritionally at risk,” to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, and eggs (state funds only) at FMNP authorized locations. WIC FMNP benefits are distributed to local WIC agencies statewide by the agency through a partnership with the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
SFMNP
SFMNP provides benefits to participants that are 60 years of age or older OR is a disabled individuals under the age of 60 living in housing facilities occupied primarily by older individuals where congregate nutrition services are provided. Funds can be used to purchase fresh, unprocessed, fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, eggs (state funds only), and honey. Individuals must have a household income of not more than 185% of the annual poverty income guidelines. View distribution locations here.
The Connecticut Department of Agriculture cannot send S/FMNP benefits to individuals.
