(HARTFORD, CT) – The Connecticut Department of Agriculture (CT DoAg) is encouraging eligible WIC and Senior participants in the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) to visit certified farmers at farmers’ markets and farm stands now for the best selection of CT Grown fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, eggs, and honey (Seniors only). The FMNP program ends on November 30, 2026.
“Now is a wonderful time to use your FMNP benefits and enjoy the best of what Connecticut farms are offering. If you have young children at home, this is a great chance to bring home fresh, local produce they’ll love and stock up on fall favorites that store well for the holidays. Our farmers are still harvesting late season tomatoes and peppers, and fall favorites are arriving including winter squashes, hearty root vegetables, crisp apples, and so much more,” said Agriculture Commissioner Bryan P. Hurlburt. “Redeem your benefits soon for the best selection of CT Grown foods and enjoy the freshness our farms work hard to bring to your table.”
FMNP is supported through state and federal funds enabling eligible seniors, disabled individuals under the age of 60, and women and children enrolled in WIC to access locally grown farm products directly from Connecticut farmers. This year WIC participants receive $65 each in benefits and eligible Seniors receive $40 each.
Where to Redeem Benefits
Eligible participants should visit the CT DoAg website for FMNP program details. A full list of where you can find certified farmers at farmers’ markets and farm stands is available on the CT Grown map.
