Art in Public Spaces

How To Apply & Selection Process

We are currently seeking Connecticut artists for the new School of Business at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) and for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Western District Headquarters.

The SCSU project will focus on purchasing works of art for the interior of the business school but some exterior opportunities may be available. Interested artists should submit up to four images of available works of art for consideration. COA may reach out to request additional works of art following the initial submission. The submission deadline is March 1, 2024 with submissions reviewed and artwork considered on a rolling basis.

The DEEP project will focus on its public locations such as the exterior plaza/lawn and may consider a site-specific sculpture commission. Some interior public space is available and purchasing existing work may be considered. Interested artists should submit up to four images of either past work, available work for purchase or a combination of the two. COA may reach out to request additional examples of your work or to request a site-specific proposal following the initial submission. The submission deadline is March 5, 2014 with submissions reviewed and artwork considered on a rolling basis.
