No, you cannot host Las Vegas Nights in Connecticut.
The Games of Chance Act governing Las Vegas night events was repealed on January 7, 2003. In Connecticut, it is illegal for an organization to build its own games of chance (Las Vegas Nights) equipment and operate without a permit.
What is not allowed?
Since the repeal in 2003, nonprofit organizations, including public and nonpublic secondary schools and associated groups of parents, teachers, and administrators are no longer able to conduct Las Vegas night events within the State of Connecticut.
Card games that were played at Las Vegas night events, such as blackjack and poker, can no longer be played for recreational purposes in connection with high school after-graduation or after-prom parties.
What charitable gaming activities are allowed?
The activities that are currently permissible include, bingo, bazaars, raffles and sealed ticket sales with the intent of raising funds for the worthy purposes of the organization. Bingo, bazaars, and raffles are organized by municipalities. Nonprofit organizations who wish to obtain a sealed ticket permit may visit our Sealed Tickets information page.
