A Windsor Board of Education employee was arrested today and charged with Workers’ Compensation Fraud.
PATRICIA STACKHOUSE, age 46, of 115 Rood Avenue, Windsor, was arrested by Inspectors from the Workers’ Compensation Fraud Control Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney on a warrant charging her with one count of Fraudulent Claim or Receipt of Benefits.
According to the arrest warrant, Stackhouse collected Workers’ Compensation benefits after reporting a work-related injury from slipping on ice in March 2018 while employed by the Windsor Board of Education.
While collecting benefits, she was observed on numerous occasions moving in a manner inconsistent with her claimed injuries and her own reporting of her physical capabilities to her physicians, the warrant states. Additionally, when released back to work, Stackhouse allegedly altered her doctor’s note to her employer by personally checking off a box marked “is unable” before a box marked “to return to work.”
Stackhouse was released on a written promise to appear in Hartford Superior Court, G.A. No. 14, on April 1, 2019. The charge is merely an accusation and she is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case will be prosecuted by the Workers’ Compensation Fraud Control Unit.
