FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Bridgeport, CT) - Joseph T. Corradino, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Fairfield, announced today that on December 19, 2022, a Bridgeport Superior Court jury found Jarod Hamilton guilty of Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 29-35(a).
Hamilton was convicted of the December 23, 2017 murder Kahli Davis. Evidence at trial established that Hamilton, who is affiliated with the Greens Homes Boys gang, shot the unarmed Davis in front of the Maple Street Deli in Bridgeport. Video surveillance demonstrated that Hamilton circled the victim’s location multiple times before walking up to the corner at 9:55 a.m. and shooting Davis three times.
The State was represented by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Colleen Zingaro, assisted by Assistant State’s Attorney Susan Campbell during jury selection and Paralegal Christina Bennett in the evidentiary portion of the trial. Inspectors Jamie Lawton and Richard Donaldson played key roles in bringing about the conviction. Former Bridgeport Homicide Detective Jorge Cintron, now an inspector with the Inspector General’s Office, was the lead investigator and testified in the case.
Hamilton faces a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Alex V. Hernandez on February 15, 2023.
