FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Vernon, CT) – Matthew C. Gedansky, Tolland State’s Attorney, today announced that a Superior Court jury found Daren Yeo, 55, of Stafford, guilty on all counts. The trial in Rockville Superior Court included separate, but related, cases. The jury found Yeo guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, seven counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor, and two counts of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree.
Evidence from the trial, that took place over four days, detailed that Yeo sexually assaulted three victims over a period of time, all of whom were minors at the time. Each of the victims testified before the jury and described the sexual abuse by Yeo when they were younger.
Yeo testified in his own defense and denied the charges.
Yeo now faces a maximum of 130 years in prison for all of the charges he was convicted of, and at least 10 years of mandatory minimum jail time for each of the Sexual Assault in the First Degree convictions. He is scheduled for sentencing before Superior Court Judge Corrine Klatt on February 15, 2022. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State's Attorney Alison Kubas. Yeo was represented by Attorney Erin Field.
