FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(New London, CT) – Paul J. Narducci, New London State’s Attorney, announced today that Jean Jacques has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the June 2015 murder of Casey Chadwick. Jacques, age 48, was sentenced on October 26, 2022 by the Honorable Shari A. Murphy in the Superior Court for the Judicial District of New London.
Jacques was found guilty by a jury of Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a on June 6, 2022. According to trial testimony, Jacques entered Ms. Chadwick’s apartment on the night of June 15, 2015 and fatally stabbed her multiple times before stuffing her body into a closet.
“Our thoughts are with Ms. Chadwick’s family and friends at this time,” State’s Attorney Narducci said.
State’s Attorney Narducci wishes to extend his gratitude to the Norwich Police Department, Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their invaluable assistance.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Christa Baker and Assistant State’s Attorney Marissa Goldberg.
