Stamford Man Sentenced to 37 Years in Prison for 2018 Homicide

10/20/2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Stamford, CT) - Paul J. Ferencek, Stamford/Norwalk State’s Attorney, announced that Sirus Dixon, age 19, of Stamford, was sentenced today by the Honorable Judge John F. Blawie to 37 years in prison for the homicide of Antonio Robinson that occurred in Stamford on May 31, 2018.

On July 21, 2022 a Superior Court jury convicted Dixon of Manslaughter in the First Degree with a Firearm in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-55a.

According to trial testimony, Dixon and two co-defendants, Jimmy Jean-Baptiste and Karl Davis, encountered the victim, Antonio Robinson, and a witness under an overpass in Stamford. After a brief confrontation, Dixon pulled a gun from his waistband, and fired a shot at Robinson and his friend as they were running away. Robinson was pronounced dead at the hospital that evening. He was 18 years old at the time. Dixon had been released from juvenile detention two months prior to the shooting.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth K. Moran and Assistant State’s Attorney Margaret Moscati.
