(New Britain, CT) - Christian M. Watson, New Britain State’s Attorney, announced today that Christopher Rodriguez has been sentenced to 17 years in prison followed by 12 years of special parole for an October 2018 sexual assault of a minor.
Following a jury trial, Rodriguez, of New Britain, was found guilty on May 5, 2022 of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, Attempted Sexual Assault in the First Degree, and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor. The trial, in the Superior Court of New Britain, was presided over by the Honorable Laura F. Baldini.
“We are hopeful that the victims of Mr. Rodriguez can find some solace and peace following the jury’s verdict and sentence of the Court,” Senior Assistant State’s Attorney David Clifton, who prosecuted the case, said.
State’s Attorney Watson and Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Clifton wish to extend their gratitude to the New Britain Police Department for their investigative efforts and to members of the Division of Scientific Services of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection and the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
