Statement of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven

On July 24, 2019, the Central District Major Crime Squad (CDMCS) of the Connecticut State Police provided the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office with materials related to their investigation into the officer involved use of force that occurred on April 16, 2019, on Argyle Street in the city of New Haven.  State’s Attorney Patrick Griffin and his staff will carefully review the provided materials and determine if further investigation is necessary before a determination is made regarding the lawfulness of the police use of force. The State’s Attorney would like to thank the CDMCS for their diligence and professionalism displayed during this complex investigation.
