FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(New Britain, CT) - Brian W. Preleski, New Britain State’s Attorney, announced that Floyd D. Gollnick, age 74, of the Plantsville section of Southington, was arraigned today and charged in connection with two shooting incidents stemming from multiple shootings that took place in and around Southington on May 30, 2021.
Mr. Gollnick has been charged in one case involving the firing of multiple shots into an occupied residence with Attempt to Commit Assault First Degree, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Use of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment First Degree, and Criminal Mischief First Degree. At his arraignment, the Hon. Frank M. D’Addabbo set bond at $500,000.
Mr. Gollnick has also been charged in a separate matter in connection with multiple shots being fired into a medical office building located in the Town of Southington. In this case, he has been charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment First Degree, Criminal Mischief First Degree, Interfering with a Police Officer and Engaging Police in Pursuit. Bond in this matter was set at $250,000 by the Hon. Frank M. D’Addabbo.
Both of these matters were continued to July 16, 2021, and transferred to Superior Court, Part A, New Britain. The other shooting incidents that took place over the weekend in Southington, Cromwell, Bristol and Hartford remain under investigation.
The charges are merely accusations and Mr. Gollnick is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
