(New Haven, CT) - New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced today that the Honorable Jon M. Alander sentenced Robert Parris, age 56, of New Haven, to 45 years in prison for the December 2019 murder of Michael Rosario, age 55, in New Haven.
A jury in New Haven Superior Court on January 25, 2023 found Parris guilty of the crimes of Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a, Criminal Possession of a Firearm in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-217 and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit in violation of Connecticut General Statutes §29-35. Parris also was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Pistol or Revolver in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-217c in a separate proceeding before the court.
According to evidence introduced at trial, Parris shot the victim in New Haven on December 19, 2019. Rosario succumbed to his injuries the following day.
