FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Hartford, CT) – Hartford State’s Attorney Sharmese L. Walcott announced that Garry Ramsey, age 58, of Hartford, was found guilty by a jury today of Murder in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-54a.
Ramsey’s conviction stems from the June 5, 2021 stabbing death of Robert Callahan, 68, of West Hartford. Evidence presented at trial showed that Ramsey went to a Manchester home searching for an acquaintance. When the victim refused to let him in, Ramsey forced entry into the home and ultimately fatally stabbed the victim.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 4, 2023 in Hartford Superior Court before the Honorable Kevin C. Doyle.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Samantha Magnani and Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney John F. Fahey, with assistance from Inspector Luis Rodriguez.
