Jasper Greene Sentenced to 33 Years in Prison for 2022 Murder of Mabel Martinez Antongiorgi in Waterbury

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

6/06/2025

(Waterbury, CT) – Waterbury Judicial District State’s Attorney Maureen T. Platt announced today that the Honorable Joseph B. Schwartz on June 3, 2025 sentenced Jasper Greene to 33 years in prison for the April 2022 murder of Mabel Martinez Antongiorgi.

Greene, age 23, of New Haven, pleaded guilty in Superior Court in Waterbury on February 18, 2025 to Murder, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a.

A police investigation found the defendant and two other men were on Walnut Street in Waterbury on April 9, 2022 when multiple gunshots were fired at a vehicle and missed their intended target. Instead, Mabel Martinez Antongiorgi, age 56, was fatally struck by the gunfire while she was ironing in her home. Another innocent victim of the shooting was wounded and later recovered.

Testimony and forensic evidence presented at the trial of Greene’s co-defendant, Franklin Robinson, showed Greene was in possession of the handgun used to fire the fatal bullet that killed the victim. Evidence at that trial also showed that Robinson, who is currently serving a 90-year prison sentence, planned the shooting. Charges against a third co-defendant, Levi Brock, are pending in Superior Court.

The case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Don E. Therkildsen, Jr., with assistance from Inspector Michael Slavin.
