(New Haven, CT) – New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. today announced that The Honorable Richard J. Rubino on September 25, 2026 sentenced Mark Pasquariello, age 74, of Stratford, to 10 years in prison, suspended after five years served, and 10 years of probation. Judge Rubino also ordered the defendant to register with Connecticut’s Sex Offender Registry.

On July 22, 2026, the defendant pleaded guilty in Superior Court in Meriden to Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1)(A), and Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § CGS 53-21(a)(2). Court records show that the defendant sexually assaulted a minor between the ages of 7 and 9 years old.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State's Attorney Leah Schwartz and investigated by the North Haven Police Department.

At the sentencing hearing, Deputy Assistant State's Attorney Schwartz commended the victim for her courage in coming forward. Judge Rubino commented that the defendant's actions impacted several people.
