(New Haven, CT) – New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. today announced that a jury in New Haven Superior Court on March 27, 2025 found Charles Bellino, age 57, of New Haven, guilty of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1)(B), and Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2).
According to evidence presented at trial, Bellino inappropriately touched a 13-year-old female in July 2020. The Honorable Ann F. Lawlor presided over the trial and will sentence the defendant on May 29, 2025 in Superior Court in New Haven.
The case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Danielle M. Hottin and Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney David J. Strollo, with assistance from Investigator Kerry Dalling, Inspector Kevin Grenier and Office of Victim Services Advocate Stephanie Backus.
“This office, together with our local, state and federal partners, will continue to prosecute and hold accountable those who commit and attempt to commit horrific acts against the most vulnerable members of our society, especially our children,” State’s Attorney Doyle said.
