FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2/06/2026

(New Haven, CT) - New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced that the Honorable Peter L. Brown today sentenced Corey Baker, age 48, of Hamden, to 20 years in prison, execution suspended after five years served, followed by 15 years of sexual offender probation. Judge Brown also ordered Baker to register as a sexual offender for a period of 10 years after his release from the State of Connecticut Department of Correction.

On December 5, 2025, a jury in New Haven Superior Court found the defendant guilty of one count of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1)(A), and one count of Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2).

Evidence presented at trial showed that Baker engaged in inappropriate physical contact with a female acquaintance over an extended period, beginning when she was six years old and continuing until she was 14.

This case was investigated by the East Haven Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Krista N. Minniti, with assistance from Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Lindade, Investigator Kerry Dalling, Inspector Sean Faughnan, and Office of Victim Services Advocate Brandi Rodriguez.
