(New Haven, CT) – New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced today that a jury in New Haven Superior Court on January 13, 2026 found Brian Flores-Colon, age 46, of New Haven, guilty of three counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-70(a)(2), three counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-70(a)(1), and three counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2).
Evidence introduced at trial included the testimony of two victims, now adults, who each reported to New Haven Police that they had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by the defendant when they were between the ages of 8 and 16 years old. The two cases were joined for a consolidated trial before a jury in New Haven Superior Court.
This case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Cynthia Lill and Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas Finnucan, with assistance from Inspector Kevin Grenier, Inspector Jeffrey Cortes, and Office of Victim Services Advocate Christie Ciancola.
The Honorable Peter L. Brown presided over the trial. Sentencing is scheduled for March 24, 2026 in New Haven Superior Court.
