Jury Finds Quincey Carraway Guilty of the 2020 Murder of Courtney Jones in New Britain

(New Britain, CT) – Christian M. Watson, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Britain, today announced that a jury in New Britain Superior Court on October 28, 2024, found Quincey Carraway, age 25, of Meriden, guilty of Murder, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-54a. The Honorable Chris Pelosi presided over the jury trial.

According to evidence introduced at trial, Carraway shot the victim, Courtney Jones, following a verbal altercation during the early morning hours of October 11, 2020, in New Britain.

The case was investigated by the New Britain Police Department and was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Adrienne Russo, with the assistance of Inspectors Felix Perez, Jerry Chrostowski and Edward Apicella.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 10, 2025 in New Britain Superior Court.
