(Hartford, CT) - Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford Judicial District State’s Attorney, today announced that a jury in Hartford Superior Court on October 22, 2024 found Jeffrey Hicks, age 31, of Hartford, guilty of one count of Illegal Sexual Contact with a Minor in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2) and one count of Risk of Injury to a Minor in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(1).
According to evidence introduced at the trial, on February 24, 2021, Hicks provided a minor female with marijuana prior to sexually assaulting her at an apartment in Hartford. The defendant was arrested by warrant after an investigation by the Hartford Police Department.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Meredith Clark and Assistant State’s Attorney Stacey Cox, with the assistance of Investigator Pedro Rivera and Inspector Derek Sutton. State’s Attorney Walcott would like to thank Victim Advocate Bridget Koestner of the Office of Victim Services for her assistance.
The Honorable Kevin C. Doyle presided over the trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 6, 2025, in Hartford Superior Court.
