(Hartford, CT) – Hartford Judicial District State’s Attorney Sharmese L. Walcott today announced that a jury in Hartford Superior Court on October 18, 2024, found Aaron Fullerton, age 48, of East Hartford, guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-71(a)(1), four counts of Risk of Injury to Minor with Illegal Sexual Contact, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-21(a)(2), two counts of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1B), and two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21-(a)(1).
According to evidence introduced at trial, the defendant had sexually abused the minor child over a four-month period during 2020-2021. The minor victim disclosed the abuse to her mother whose actions brought the abuse to an end. Fullerton was arrested by warrant following investigation by the East Hartford Police Department.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorneys Terence D. Mariani, Jr. and Elena Palermo of the Statewide Prosecution Bureau in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, with the assistance of Inspector Emory Hightower and support staff from the Hartford State’s Attorney’s Office. The Honorable Nuala E. Droney presided over the trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 17, 2025 in Hartford Superior Court.
