(Bridgeport, CT) – Bridgeport Judicial District State’s Attorney Joseph T. Corradino today announced that a Superior Court jury in Bridgeport on December 16, 2025 found Terence Gallimore, age 35, of Bridgeport, guilty of the crimes of Murder, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a(a), Assault in the First Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-59(a)(5), and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-217.
After eight days of evidence, the jury deliberated for just over two hours before finding the defendant guilty of the murder of Brandaja Winston, age 28, of Bridgeport, and the assault of Davon Taylor, age 30, of Bridgeport, that occurred near the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Caroll Avenue in Bridgeport during the early morning hours of August 17, 2024.
At trial, the evidence established that an unidentified male armed with 9mm handgun and the defendant armed with an AK-47-style rifle opened fire on a small group of people standing on the sidewalk. Ms. Winston was shot in the head and died at the scene. Mr. Taylor was hit multiple times and taken to Bridgeport Hospital. Bridgeport police officers found 17 shell casings at the scene. Investigators believe neither victim was the intended target. The unidentified man remains at large and the investigation remains open.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth K. Moran, with assistance from Inspector Edward Zack, and Paralegal Specialist Iris Villanueva.
“We are fortunate to have talented prosecutors, paraprofessionals, and investigators to try the cases prepared by the dedicated personnel of the Bridgeport Police Department Homicide Squad,” Corradino said. “The people of this city need to know that we will not tolerate gun violence and will diligently pursue those who make their homes and families unsafe and senselessly take the lives of others.”
Gallimore faces up to 90 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Kevin C. Doyle on February 23, 2026 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
