

(Rocky Hill, CT) – Margaret E. Kelley, Ansonia/Milford Judicial District State’s Attorney, and the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad today announced that the State of Connecticut is offering two rewards not exceeding the amount of $50,000 each for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who murdered David Rivera and Carlos Omar Calderon. The bodies of Mr. Rivera and Mr. Calderon were found in a burning car on Roosevelt Drive in Oxford near the Stevenson Dam in the early morning hours of May 30, 2024.
Despite diligent investigative efforts by the Connecticut State Police, the murders of Mr. Rivera and Mr. Calderon remain unsolved. In the hope of continuing to move this investigation forward, Gov. Ned Lamont has authorized two rewards not exceeding the amount of $50,000 in each case to any individual providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of their killer or killers.
The families of Mr. Rivera and Mr. Calderon deserve to know what happened to their loved ones. We are asking for the public’s help in answering this question. We know that there are individuals with information pertaining to this investigation who have yet to come forward.
“We are committed to finding justice for David Rivera and Carlos Omar Calderon and their loved ones,” said State’s Attorney Kelley. “We urge anyone with information - no matter how insignificant it may seem - to come forward. This reward reflects the seriousness of this case and our determination to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.”
