(Bridgeport, CT) - Joseph T. Corradino, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Bridgeport, announced today the sentencing of Rahmani Kabwe on November 24, 2025 by the Honorable Earl B. Richards III to a total effective sentence of 47 years in prison to serve, with 15 years of that sentence being mandatory minimum jail time.
The sentencing was the result of guilty verdicts after a weeklong jury trial held in September 2025. The jury in Bridgeport Superior Court on September 29, 2025 found Kabwe, age 42, of Bridgeport, guilty of Sexual Assault in the First Degree (of a minor), in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-70(a)(2), Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-71(a)(4), Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2) and Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1)(A) and 53a-73a(a)(2). Of the two informations, totaling 14 counts, Kabwe was found guilty on all counts. According to the evidence at trial, Kabwe sexually assaulted three young girls between 2019 and 2021 and another young girl in 2022 while he was out on bond in the first case.
The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III, with the assistance of Inspector Christian DiCarlo and Paralegal Specialist Christina Bennett.
