(New Haven, CT) - New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. today announced that a jury in New Haven Superior Court on October 10, 2024 found William Maisano guilty of the crimes of Breach of Peace in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-181(a)(3), and Threatening in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-62(a)(3)(C). The Honorable Ann F. Lawlor presided over the jury trial.
According to evidence introduced at trial, Maisano sent an email containing threatening language on June 16, 2023, the day of Guilford High School’s graduation, to the school principal. The Guilford Police Department and Guilford Public Schools responded in order to ensure the safety of the attendees of the graduation.
The case was investigated by the Guilford Police Department and was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Krista Minniti. She was assisted by Investigator Huey Young.
States’ Attorney Doyle credits the Guilford Police Department, the Guilford Superintendent of Schools and the Principal of Guilford High School for their cooperation and professionalism during the pendency of this investigation and prosecution.
Sentencing is scheduled for December 12, 2024 in New Haven Superior Court.
