(New Haven, CT) – New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. today announced that a jury in New Haven Superior Court on September 23, 2026 found Tyrone Craddock, age 51, of Bridgeport, guilty of the crimes of Criminal Violation of a Protective Order, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-223(c)(2), and Assault in the Third Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-61. The Honorable David L. Zagaja presided over the trial.
The evidence introduced at trial showed that on September 10, 2021, at Rize Night Club in New Haven, the defendant violated a no-contact protective order requiring him to maintain a minimum distance of 100 yards when he approached the protected party, called her a snitch and struck her in the face, causing a nasal fracture. The defendant had previously been convicted after a jury trial in Superior Court in Milford of Sexual Assault in the First Degree in a case involving the protected party and was sentenced in the Judicial District of Ansonia/Milford to 20 years in prison, execution suspended after 14 years served and 15 years of probation.
The case was investigated by Officer Jack Cardi of the New Haven Police Department and prosecuted by Senior Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Lindade, with the assistance of Investigator Dietrich Hernandez, the Ansonia/Milford Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office and Victim Advocate Stephanie Backus.
Sentencing is scheduled for December 2, 2026, in New Haven Superior Court.
