(Stamford, CT) – Stamford/Norwalk Judicial District State’s Attorney Paul J. Ferencek today announced that the Honorable John F. Blawie on September 5, 2025 sentenced Ellen Wink, age 65, of Norwalk, to 50 years in prison for the 2022 fatal shooting of Kurt Lametta, age 54, in Norwalk.
On June 20, 2025, a Superior Court jury in Stamford found Wink guilty of Murder, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54a(a), and Criminal Lockout, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-214, rejecting the defense’s claim of self-defense and extreme emotional disturbance. Evidence at trial showed that the victim was the defendant’s tenant at a home in Norwalk on January 20, 2022, when the defendant, following a history of disputes between the two individuals, fatally shot the victim during a confrontation. The victim had recorded the final moments of the argument on his cell phone, which was used as evidence in the trial.
The case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Michelle Manning and Assistant State’s Attorney Margaret Moscati, with the assistance of Inspector Christopher Gioielli.
