New Haven Man Sentenced for 2022 Fatal Shooting in New Haven

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

8/13/2026

(New Haven, CT) - New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. today announced that The Honorable Tracey Lee Dayton on August 10, 2026, sentenced Miguel Reynoso, age 40, of New Haven, to 40 years in prison, execution suspended after 28 years served, and five years of probation, for the 2022 shooting death of Ernie Negroni Feliciano, age 27, of New Haven.

On June 9, 2026, Reynoso pleaded guilty in New Haven Superior Court to Manslaughter in the First Degree with a Firearm, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-55a. Numerous family members of the victim were present for the sentencing hearing and for previous court appearances.

Evidence showed that Reynoso and the victim had been involved in an ongoing dispute. On the evening of December 30, 2022, Reynoso saw the victim sitting in a car with friends outside an apartment complex on Saltonstall Avenue in the Fair Haven neighborhood of New Haven. He then parked a short distance away, got out of his vehicle, took cover behind a sign, and fired at the victim, striking him in the head and killing him.

The case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department with Detective Allyn Wright as the lead detective. The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Charles Johnson and Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Seth R. Garbarsky, with assistance from inspector Michael Mastropetre.

State’s Attorney Doyle would like to extend his gratitude to the New Haven Police Department and his condolences to the family of Ernie Negroni Feliciano for their loss.
