Judge Sentences Clinton Man Convicted of Multiple Counts of Sexual Assault

(Middletown, CT) – Middlesex Judicial District State’s Attorney Michael A. Gailor, today announced that the Honorable Laura F. Baldini on May 29, 2026 sentenced Matthew Pixley, age 46, of Clinton, to 40 years in prison, execution suspended after 22 years to serve, followed by 15 years of probation for the repeated sexual abuse of a child when the child was between the ages of 8 and 13.

Judge Baldini had previously found Pixley guilty after a court trial of four counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-70(a)(2), one count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-71(a)(1), two counts of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of General Statutes 53a-71(a)(1)(A), and one count of Risk of Injury to a Minor, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2).

State’s Attorney Gailor praised the courage of the victim to come forward and to testify against Pixley while Judge Baldini complimented the victim on her ability to not only persevere, but also to succeed, despite the crimes committed against her. 

The case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Steven M. Lesko, who was assisted by Inspector Mark Miele and Paralegal Specialist Katarzyna Lekarczyk.
