(Hartford, CT) - Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford Judicial District State’s Attorney, announced today that a jury in Hartford Superior Court on May 9, 2025, found Jorge Grados, age 43, of Willimantic, guilty of two counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-71(a)(1), one count of Illegal Sexual Contact with a Victim Under the Age of 16, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53-21(a)(2), and one count of Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-73a(a)(1B).
According to evidence introduced at the trial, the victim, now an adult, reported to the Manchester Police Department that between 2012 and 2015, when the victim was between the ages of 12 and 15, they were sexually assaulted multiple times by the defendant, the boyfriend of the victim’s mother at the time. The victim reported that the defendant sexually assaulted them at night when their mother was asleep.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Stacey Cox and Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Whitney Lorello, with the invaluable assistance of Inspector Luis Rodriguez, and Paralegal Specialist Lakisha Malave. State’s Attorney Walcott would like to thank Attorneys Cox and Lorello for their dedication to the case and for the long hours they spent preparing for trial.
