(Vernon, CT) - Craig P. Nowak, State’s Attorney for the Tolland Judicial District, today announced that a jury in Superior Court at Rockville on January 30, 2026 found Alvin Waugh, age 35, of Hartford, guilty of Murder, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-54, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 29-35. The Honorable Tejas Bhatt presided over the trial.

The defendant is being held on a $2 million bond while awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for April 10, 2026 at Superior Court in Rockville.
