Statement concerning the Decision of the Connecticut Supreme Court in

Michael C. Skakel v. State of Connecticut

The State is pleased with the Court’s decision affirming the trial court’s denial of Mr. Skakel’s request for a new trial, and hopefully sparing the Moxley family from any further ordeal. Despite numerous claims of newly discovered evidence, the majority of the Court has found nothing that undermines its confidence in the guilty verdict rendered by the jury in 2002.
