The Office of the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury is working with all local, state and federal agencies to investigate and document the circumstances and facts of the tragic and horrific incident at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. In that this is an active and ongoing criminal investigation this office will have no comment on the status or details of the investigation. All information regarding the investigation will be released by the Connecticut State Police.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the victims of this unspeakable tragedy and to their families, friends and the Newtown community. We share in the loss of our friends and our neighbors. We also extend our most sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Newtown Police Department, the Connecticut State Police, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the United States Attorney's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshal's Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and all of the other local, state and federal agencies involved in this investigation.
