Reports of Committees:
Management: No report.
Operations: Policy regarding witness testimony in stalking and domestic violence cases is being revised. Adopted. Moved: State's Attorney Ferencek; Seconded by State's Attorney Narducci. Unanimously passed.
Survey regarding discovery issued to be completed in August.
There was a discussion of the distinction between being “in custody” for escape purposed rather than State v. Oquendo purposes when a police officer attempts to pull over a motorist.
The State of Connecticut Psychiatric Security Review Board task force is finalizing recommendations. There was a discussion of whether the hospital can make determinations concerning less restrictive settings.
Peer Review: Drafts for peer reviews are in progress. First drafts will be ready about July 15.
Other Business: State’s Attorney Corradino expressed thanks to State’s Attorney Applegate, who loaned a prosecutor to his district and who successfully concluded a murder trial, citing it as a successful example of the Chief State’s Attorney’s suggestion that personnel be given opportunities to work outside their districts as developmental opportunities and to assist where there is need.
