Minutes of the Meeting of April 3, 2024
The meeting was called to order at 12:31 p.m. by Ansonia/Milford Judicial District State's Attorney Margaret E. Kelley.
Present: Chief State’s Attorney Patrick Griffin; State’s Attorneys Margaret E. Kelley (Ansonia-Milford); Joseph T. Corradino (Bridgeport); David R. Applegate (Danbury); Sharmese L. Walcott (Hartford); David Shannon (Litchfield); Michael A. Gailor (Middlesex); Christian M. Watson (New Britain); John P. Doyle (New Haven), Jr.; Paul J Narducci (New London); Paul J. Ferencek (Stamford); Matthew C. Gedansky (Tolland); Maureen Platt (Waterbury); Anne F. Mahoney (Windham).
Absent: Scott Murphy (Criminal Justice Commission).
Also Present: Deputy Chief State’s Attorneys John Russotto (Administration), Kevin Lawlor (Operations), Robert Devlin (Inspector General) and OCSA staff.
Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting.
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously accepted without amendment.
Reports of Committees:
Management: Supervisor training for all supervisory assistant state’s attorneys will take place on May 1st. Absence is authorized only for scheduled vacation or trial.
Operations: 1. A proposed policy concerning discovery including providing discovery materials to victims or their attorneys is ready to go out to the state’s attorneys for review. Issues concerning Practice Book Section 40-10 have been raised and may be addressed by the Rules Committee of the Superior Court. 2. Policy reviews of the 500 series are in progress. 3. Issues with juvenile motor vehicle thefts need more work, including motions to transfer.
Peer Review: Half of the submissions have been received at OCSA. Mr. Russotto will be putting out a schedule. Reviews will begin in April with tighter schedules in May.
Conflicts: Mr. Shannon addressed an issue.
