Minutes of the Meeting of September 19, 2022
The Honorable Andrew J. McDonald, Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m.
In addition to Justice McDonald, participating in the meeting were: Attorneys Robert Berke, Reginald Dwayne Betts, Scott Murphy and Moy Ogilvie and Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin. Also present was Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Janice duFrend.
Attorney Murphy moved to accept the minutes of the July 18, 2022 meeting. Attorney Betts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Justice McDonald said the Commission was to interview candidates for Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys in the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Danbury, Geographical Area No. 3, Judicial District of Stamford, Geographical Area No. 1, Special Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys and Special Inspector. David R. Applegate, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury, and Paul J. Ferencek, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk, were present to participate in the interviews of candidates for Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney and Special Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney.
Attorney Betts moved to enter into executive session to discuss candidates for the positions. Attorney Murphy seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The executive session began at 9:09 a.m.
At 11:11 a.m., the Commission adjourned briefly. After a short recess, the Commission resumed its executive session at 11:25 a.m.
The executive session ended at 12:49 p.m. Justice McDonald announced that no motions were made or votes taken during the executive session. Attorney Murphy moved to approve Tori Ludwig as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Judicial District of Danbury, Geographical Area No. 3, David Nielsen as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk Geographical Area No. 1, Michael Errichetti, Lauren Higgins, Talia Johnson and Eileen Ornousky as Special Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys and Michael Pendleton as Special Inspector. Attorney Ogilvie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business, Attorney Murphy moved to adjourn the meeting. Attorney Betts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:53 p.m.
