Minutes of the Meeting of January 31, 2022

The Honorable Andrew J. McDonald, Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. In addition to Justice McDonald, participating in the meeting were: Attorneys Robert Berke, Reginald Dwayne Betts, Scott Murphy and Moy Ogilvie and Chief State’s Attorney Richard J. Colangelo, Jr. Also present were Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Janice duFrend, Paul J. Narducci, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New London and Maureen Platt, State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Waterbury.

In accordance with Executive Orders issued because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was conducted by electronic conference (ZOOM software).

Attorney Ogilvie moved to accept the minutes of the December 23, 2021 meeting. Attorney Murphy seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Attorney Berke moved to enter into executive session to discuss candidates for two positions of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Judicial District of New London, G.A. No. 10, New London, and G.A. No. 21, Norwich, and one position of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Judicial District of Waterbury, G.A. No. 4, Waterbury. Attorney Ogilvie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The executive session began at 9:04 a.m.

The executive session ended at 1:22 p.m. Justice McDonald announced that no motions were made or votes taken during the executive session. Attorney Murphy moved to approve Alexandra Aksterowicz as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys in the Judicial District of New London, G.A. No. 10, New London. Attorney Berke seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Chief State’s Attorney Colangelo moved to approve Carlos Cruz as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys in the Judicial District of New London, G.A. No. 21, Norwich. Attorney Betts seconded the motion and it passed 5-0 with Attorney Berke abstaining. Attorney Ogilvie moved to approve Alexandra Arroyo as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Judicial District of Waterbury, G.A. No. 4, Waterbury. Attorney Betts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

There being no further business, Chief State’s Attorney Colangelo moved to adjourn the meeting. Attorney Berke seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 1:26 p.m.
