Minutes of the Meeting of July 29, 2021
The Honorable Andrew J. McDonald, Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:01 a.m. In accordance with Executive Orders issued because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was conducted by electronic conference (ZOOM software).
In addition to Justice McDonald and the public, participating in the meeting were: The Honorable Melanie L. Cradle, Attorneys Robert Berke, Reginald Dwayne Betts, Scott Murphy and Moy Ogilvie and Chief State’s Attorney Richard J. Colangelo, Jr.
Attorney Murphy moved to accept the minutes of the June 22, 2021 special meeting and the June 24, 2021 regular meeting. Attorney Ogilvie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Chief State’s Attorney Colangelo introduced Marc Pelka, Undersecretary of Criminal Justice Policy and Planning for the Office of Policy and Management; Kyle Baudoin, Policy Development Coordinator with the Office of Policy and Management; Kevin Neary, Lead Planning Analyst with the Office of Policy and Management; Maurice Reaves, Staff Attorney with the Office of Policy and Management; and Robin Olsen, Principal Policy Associate with The Urban Institute.
Mr. Pelka, Mr. Baudoin, Mr. Neary, Mr. Reaves and Ms. Olsen gave a presentation based on a recent analysis of Judicial Branch data and discussions with criminal justice officials in compliance with Public-Act 19-59 that requires Connecticut to routinely collect, analyze and report on prosecutor data.
Justice McDonald thanked the participants for their presentation.
There being no further business, Chief State’s Attorney Colangelo moved to adjourn. Attorney Betts seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 11:28 a.m.
