Minutes of Meeting
October 9, 2014
The Criminal Justice Commission met on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Rocky Hill for the purpose of conducting interviews for the appointment of two Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of New Haven, Geographical Area (G.A.) 23; and any other business to come before the Commission.
The following members were present: The Honorable Richard N. Palmer, Chairperson, The Hon. Juliett Crawford, Attorney Mary M. Galvin, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Moy N. Ogilvie, and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane. Also present: Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney David J. Strollo and Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Ngina Gibson.
The meeting, which was open to the public, commenced at 9:15 a.m. in the conference room. Attorney Horan made a motion, seconded by Attorney Galvin, to approve the minutes of the meeting of September 29, 2014. The motion passed unanimously.
Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Strollo briefed the members about the positions at G.A. 23. The Commission then interviewed the following attorneys: Jennifer Cooper, James Donohue, Maria del Pilar Gonzalez, Thomas Houlihan, Dennis Mancini, Joseph Murolo, Joshua Susco, Lawrence Tamaccio and Alanna Tynan. After a brief recess at 10:35 a.m., the interviews resumed at 10:45 a.m.
Attorney Horan made a motion to go into executive session at 1:47 p.m. to discuss the appointments. The motion was seconded by Attorney Ogilvie and passed unanimously.
Following the executive session, the Commission resumed its public meeting at 2:10 p.m. Attorney Horan moved for the appointments of Attorneys Maria del Pilar Gonzalez and Alanna Tynan as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorneys at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of New Haven, G.A. 23. Attorney Ogilvie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:13 p.m.
