Minutes of Meeting
July 15, 2014
The Criminal Justice Commission met on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Rocky Hill for the purpose of conducting interviews for the appointments of Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk, Geographical Area (G.A.) 1; Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Hartford, G.A. 14; and any other business to come before the Commission.
The following members were present: The Honorable Richard N. Palmer, Chairperson, Attorney Mary M. Galvin, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Moy N. Ogilvie, Attorney Ann G. Taylor and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane. Also present: State’s Attorney David I. Cohen, State’s Attorney Gail P. Hardy and Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Ngina Gibson.
The meeting, which was open to the public, commenced at 9:10 a.m. in the conference room. Attorney Horan made a motion, seconded by Attorney Taylor, to approve the minutes of the meeting of June 27, 2014. The motion passed unanimously.
State’s Attorney David I. Cohen briefed the members about the position at G.A. 1. The Commission then interviewed the following attorneys: Susan M. Campbell, Jonathan Lewin, Michael P. Nemec and Alanna Tynan. After a brief recess at 10:40 a.m., the interviews resumed at 10:55 a.m.
Attorney Horan made a motion to go into executive session at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the appointment. The motion was seconded by Attorney Taylor and passed unanimously.
Following the executive session, the Commission resumed its public meeting at 11:50 a.m. Attorney Horan moved for the appointment of Attorney Susan M. Campbell as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk, G.A. 1. Attorney Taylor seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
State’s Attorney Gail P. Hardy joined the meeting and briefed the members about the position at G.A.14. The Commission interviewed the following attorneys: Gregory Borrelli, Mary Eschuk, Sara Greene, Danielle O’Connell and Gwaina Wauldon.
After a recess at 1:30 p.m., the Commission resumed its public meeting at 1:55 p.m. to conclude the interviews.
Attorney Horan made a motion to go into executive session to discuss the appointment at 2:40 p.m. Attorney Taylor seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Following the executive session, the Commission resumed its public meeting at 2:50 p.m. Attorney Taylor moved for the appointment of Attorney Danielle M. O’Connell as Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Hartford, G.A. 14. Attorney Ogilvie seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:50 p.m.
