USD1 Pre-Release Education Programming Outcomes (Request #0054)

The Analysis of the impact of pre-release educational programming on workforce outcomes (DR-0054) will provide context for program design and decision making for the Undersecretary for Criminal Justice and Policy Planning, Unified School District 1 leadership team and for the Department of Correction. This project focuses on understanding how enrollment and completion of Unified School District #1 programs impacts wages and employment for those exiting incarceration.

The project will address the following research questions:
  1. What are the demographic characteristics of USD1 participants?
  2. What are the labor market outcomes as measured by employment for USD1 participants once they are released from incarceration?
  3. What are the labor market outcomes as measured by wages for USD1 participants once they are released from incarceration?
  4. What are the observed differences in labor market outcomes as measured by employment and wages between USD1 participants who engaged with different USD1 programs? 
  5. What are the observed differences in labor market outcomes as measured by employment and wages for USD1 participants who engage in one program or multiple programs?

The Data Sharing Agreement for Request #0054 contains the agreement between all parties to the data request, the approved data request and data elements, as well as additional exhibits including the confidentiality agreement, data destruction policy, and the P20 WIN Enterprise Memorandum of Understanding.
