Connecticut’s Approved K–3 Reading Curriculum Models or Programs

The C.G.S. 10-14ii requires the Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success at the CSDE to review and approve at least five reading curriculum models or programs that must be implemented by all public-school districts effective the 2023–24 school year. 

Reading Leadership Implementation Council

Pursuant to Section 10-14gg of the Connecticut General Statutes (C.G.S.) establishes the Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success (Center) within the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). The activities of the Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success shall be informed by the Reading Leadership Implementation Council. Connecticut's K-3 Literacy StrategyThe Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success developed the Connecticut’s K-3 Literacy Strategy with guidance from the Reading Leadership Implementation Council. The resources and information provided in this document create a road map for Connecticut to improve practices and methods of a comprehensive, multi-tiered educational learning system that includes culturally responsive, scientifically based, evidence-based literacy practices, strategies, and structures.
