Pesticide Product Registration Requirements
Pesticides exempt from federal registration under section 25(b) of FIFRA must be registered in Connecticut, more information here.
Alternate Brand Names (ABN) must be registered separately.
Section 22a-50(l) of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that the Commissioner classify neonicotinoids (as defined by section 22-61k of the Connecticut General Statutes) that are labeled for treating plants, as restricted use.
A complete registration application consists of:
- one copy of the Application for Registration of Pesticides,
- one copy of the safety data sheet (SDS) and one copy of the product label for each product to be registered, and
- a check made payable to "Department of Energy and Environmental Protection" for the required registration fee.
See the Instructions for information on how to complete the application form.
