Jury Convicts New Haven Man of 2021 Assault

(New Haven, CT) – 
New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. announced that a jury today in New Haven Superior Court found Jesse Miller, of New Haven, guilty of the crime of Attempt to Commit Assault in the First Degree in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 53a-49(a)(2) and 53a-59(a)(1), and Assault in the Second Degree in violation of Connecticut General Statutes §53a-60(a)(2). The Honorable Jon M. Alander presided over the jury trial.

According to evidence introduced at trial, Miller stabbed the victim numerous times with a screwdriver in New Haven on August 9, 2021. The victim received wounds to his lip, right chest, and a defensive wound to his right arm. Miller was arrested on scene by the New Haven Police Department.

The case was investigated by the New Haven Police Department and was prosecuted by Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Kathleen E. Morgan and Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney David J. Strollo.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 2, 2023 in New Haven Superior Court.
