Minutes of the Meeting of October 5, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 12:35 p.m. by State’s Attorney Margaret E. Kelley (Ansonia-Milford).

Also present were Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin, Deputy Chief State’s Attorneys John J. Russotto, Kevin D. Lawlor and Inspector General Robert J. Devlin, Jr.; State’s Attorneys David R.  Applegate (Danbury); Joseph T. Corradino (Fairfield); David R. Shannon (Litchfield); Christian M. Watson (New Britain); John P. Doyle, Jr. (New Haven); Paul J. Narducci (New London); Paul J. Ferencek (Stamford); Matthew C. Gedansky (Tolland); Maureen T. Platt (Waterbury); Anne F. MINUTES

A motion to accept the minutes from the September 12, 2022 meeting was made by State's Attorney Narducci and seconded by State's Attorney Ferencek. It passed unanimously.

 MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Corradino reported that the committee had met and were discussing evaluating the use of the new performance appraisal forms, addressing morale concerns, in part, with a plan to implement an employee recognition system, potentially having a retreat for the State’s Attorneys in the spring and continuing with a review of the Division policies.

 OPERATIONS COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Platt reported for the Operations Committee and the plan to review the policies concerning ethics, sentence modifications and complaint procedures. The committee also intends to discuss the tracking of juvenile detentions at a meeting to be scheduled next week.

PEER REVIEW UPDATE

Deputy Chief State's Attorney Russotto reported that he has received all of the self-reports and that interviews for those persons will be scheduled in October. The next group will be reviewed in the spring.

 POTENTIAL CONFLICTS

 None reported.

OTHER BUSINESS

The Board congratulated State's Attorney Mahoney on her receipt of the 2022 Alyssiah Wiley Making A Difference in the Community Award (Domestic Violence).

ADJOURNMENT

State's Attorney Platt made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:45 p.m. It was seconded by Deputy Chief State's Attorney Russotto and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
