Minutes of the Meeting of November 2, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 12:32 p.m. by State’s Attorney Anne F. Mahoney (Windham).

Also present were Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin, Deputy Chief State’s Attorneys John J. Russotto, Kevin D. Lawlor and Inspector General Robert J. Devlin, Jr.; State’s Attorneys David R.  Applegate (Danbury); Joseph T. Corradino (Fairfield); David R. Shannon (Litchfield); Christian M. Watson (New Britain); John P. Doyle, Jr. (New Haven); Paul J. Narducci (New London); Paul J. Ferencek (Stamford); Matthew C. Gedansky (Tolland); Maureen T. Platt (Waterbury); Senior Assistant State's Attorney Timothy J. MINUTES

A motion to accept the minutes from the October 5, 2022 meeting was made by State's Attorney Narducci and seconded by State's Attorney Ferencek. It passed unanimously.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Corradino reported that the committee is working on an assessment tool for the new performance evaluations and a plan for a retreat for the State’s Attorneys which will include a “resiliency” component.

OPERATIONS COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Platt reported for the Operations Committee and indicated that a discussion concerning juvenile detentions and transfers would occur after the December meeting.

PEER REVIEW UPDATE

Deputy Chief State's Attorney Russotto reported that they are in the process of scheduling interviews. It is anticipated that the interviews will occur prior to the end of the calendar year.                             

POTENTIAL CONFLICTS

 None reported.

OTHER BUSINESS

State's Attorney Mahoney raised an issue presented by our lab concerning the retention of the sexual assault examination kits (and some evidence) and whether the lab is able to provide storage. Chief State's Attorney Griffin requested that State's Attorney Platt and the Operations Committee discuss and report on this issue.

ADJOURNMENT

State's Attorney Corradino made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Deputy Chief State's Attorney Russotto and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:36 p.m.
