Minutes of the Meeting of December 7, 2022

The meeting was called to order at 12:32 p.m. by State’s Attorney Anne F. Mahoney (Windham).

Also present were Chief State’s Attorney Patrick J. Griffin, Deputy Chief State’s Attorneys John J. Russotto, Kevin D. Lawlor and Inspector General Robert J. Devlin, Jr.; State’s Attorneys David R.  Applegate (Danbury); Joseph T. Corradino (Fairfield); Sharmese L. Walcott (Hartford); David R. Shannon (Litchfield); Michael A. Gailor (Middlesex); Christian M. Watson (New Britain); John P. Doyle, Jr. (New Haven); Paul J. Narducci (New London); Paul J. Ferencek (Stamford); Matthew C. Gedansky (Tolland); Maureen T. Platt (Waterbury); Senior Assistant State's Attorney Timothy J. MINUTES

A motion to accept the minutes from the November 2, 2022 meeting was made and seconded. It passed unanimously.

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Corradino reported on the following items:

  1. The committee approved a survey concerning the new performance appraisal for prosecutors;
  2. The committee wants to update the job descriptions for all DCJ employees;
  3. The committee intends to hold meetings for supervisors, beginning with two in person meetings in the 2023 calendar year, with more to follow; and
  4. The committee is organizing a two day retreat for the State’s Attorneys, with a tentative date in March.

 

OPERATIONS COMMITTEE

State's Attorney Platt reported for the Operations Committee and indicated that the committee had met virtually as a committee and also with representatives from the Lab on the following:

  1. The meeting with the Lab concerning the ICAC crimes reporting by each of the State’s Attorneys (specifically, which crimes to report) and the retention of evidence re sexual assault investigations and;
  2. The advisement of rights forms for juveniles and adults-achieving consistency.

PEER REVIEW UPDATE

Deputy Chief State's Attorney Russotto reported that the seven reviews are being scheduled for two days at the end of the month and e-mails would be sent out this week.

ADJOURNMENT

State's Attorney Corradino made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by State's Attorney Kelley and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
