Division of Criminal Justice Advisory Board 

Minutes of the Meeting of December 20, 2021 

The meeting was called to order at 12:31 p.m. by State’s Attorney Patrick Griffin, President of the Board.

Also present were, Chief State’s Attorney Richard J. Colangelo, Jr.; Deputy Chief State’s Attorney Kevin Lawlor; Deputy Chief State’s Attorney John Russotto; Deputy Chief State’s Attorney Robert Devlin; State’s Attorneys Margaret E. Kelley (Ansonia/Milford), Stephen Sedensky (Danbury);Joseph T. Corradino (Fairfield), Sharmese Walcott (Hartford), Dawn Gallo (Litchfield); Michael Gailor (Middletown); Brian Preleski (New Britain); Paul Narducci (New London); Paul J. Ferencek (Stamford/Norwalk), Maureen Platt (Waterbury); and Anne Mahoney (Windham); and Executive Assistant State’s Attorneys John Doyle, Brett Salafia and Gail P. Hardy; Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Joseph Valdes (Conviction Integrity Unit); Director of Communications Alaine Griffin; Legislative Liaison Melanie Dykas; Manager of Research and Planning, Kyle Beaudoin; and representative of the Criminal Justice Commission, Scott Murphy.

The minutes from the previous meeting were approved unanimously.

The State’s Attorney’s Management Committee reported that the Division recently hosted a one-day managerial training for all Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorneys and a two-day managerial training for some supervisors and State’s Attorneys.

The Operations Committee reported that proposed changes to the Division’s policy regarding the investigation of officer involved use-of-force cases will be sent to the State’s Attorneys for review and that the peer reviews of the State’s Attorneys that were done in 2021 are expected to be completed shortly.

No other business was conducted.
