The Criminal Justice Commission met on Thursday, May 19, 2016, to conduct interviews for the position of State’s Attorney, Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of Windham; discuss the appointment of the State’s Attorney, Office of the State’s Attorney, Judicial District of New Haven; and any other business that may come before the Commission.

The meeting was called to order at 9:20 a.m. by The Honorable Richard N. Palmer, Chair.

In attendance were: The Honorable Juliett Crawford, Attorney Mary M. Galvin, Attorney Maura H. Horan, Attorney Moy N. Ogilvie, Attorney Ann G. Taylor and Chief State’s Attorney Kevin T. Kane. Also present: Human Resources/Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist Ngina McMillian.

Attorney Horan made a motion, seconded by Attorney Taylor, to approve the minutes of the meeting of January 15, 2016. The motion passed unanimously. Discussion ensued regarding the position of State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Windham and the reappointment notice for the Chief State’s Attorney.

The Commission interviewed the following for the position of State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Windham: Matthew Crockett, Thomas DeLillo, John Fahey, Anne Mahoney, Brett Salafia, and Robert Scheinblum.

After a brief recess at 12:40 p.m., the interviews resumed at 12:50 p.m. At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Commission had a working lunch during which it was decided to interview select candidates for the position of State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of New Haven.

Attorney Ogilvie made a motion to go into executive session at 3:34 p.m. to discuss the Windham appointment. The motion was seconded by Attorney Taylor and passed unanimously.

The Commission resumed its public meeting at 3:50 p.m. Attorney Galvin moved for the appointment of Attorney Anne Mahoney as State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Windham. Attorney Horan seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
